“There was once this great idea to bring together a remarkable group of people that when called upon could fight the battles others never could…. What are you prepared to do?” These are the thought-provoking words of the beloved Marvel Avenger’s Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. He believed in the gifts and strengths of each superhero. He knew that when they came together as a team they would do great things.
Each of us has something powerful within. Like the beloved superheroes, we all have a story of how we came to realize our power and of the struggle with our weaknesses to allow it to emerge. Don’t fret if you find yourself still in the “struggle to emerge” phase. We will all go through that process more than once in our lifetime. Remember, there is more to you than what you see. As you continue to grow, which is never easy and always challenging, you will discover the true strength inside of you.
That strength may be something that you currently take for granted. I remember when my “superpower” was identified as ENCOURAGEMENT. I have to admit, I was not impressed. (LOL!) I thought, “Seriously, that’s the best you could come up with? I do that all the time. That’s just me. I wanted something better.” However, it not only became better, it became greater when I embraced it and intentionally sharpened it. I am on a mission to be the best encourager I can possibly be. From that moment of acceptance, many things evolved. I began coaching. I have written books and student leadership curriculum. I have had my own television show. I have spoken all over the world. I have served our community. I founded a non-profit that provides in-school coaching for middle schoolers, and I’m just getting started.
The world needs you to activate the power within you. You have been gifted with many amazing abilities. With those abilities you will be able to enhance the world in a way that no other can. You will be able to bring your gifts to the table and collaborate with others to do even greater things. These things are the dreams that are deep inside your soul that drive you to become the empowered person within. When combined with the inspired dreams of other “supers,” something dynamic happens as synergy ignites!
Wow, what are we waiting for? Let’s do this! Let’s grow into our “super”! The world is waiting for heroes to rise to the occasion to bring peace, hope, encouragement, life, freedom, empowerment and inspiration.
