Time to Get UNSTUCK

How do you get unstuck?  Being stuck does not mean you no longer have a goal.  What it means is that along the way towards reaching your goal, something unforeseen appeared in your path or you simply got distracted.

Don’t fret.  It happens to the best of us.  Now, your focus should not be on how you got there, why you went there or beating yourself up for going there.  Again, it happens.  So, shake it off and get refocused.  How do you do that?  Well, ask yourself these few simple yet direct questions and answer them as honestly as possible.

  1. “How important is (goal) to me anyway?”
  2. “What if I lowered my expectations and get moving that way?”
  3. “What am I ready to change?”
  4. “What am I tolerating or putting up with?”
  5. “What research could I do to help me find the first step of getting unstuck?”
  6. “Who could I talk to who would illuminate my issue?”

Once you have answered these questions, you then must intentionally make the decision to move forward.  You will need to prepare yourself to step out of your comfort zone and do things that maybe you have never done.  You may have to try new ideas and let go of limiting beliefs and old mindsets.  In making that decision, here are a few questions you may want to ask yourself.

  1. “What will I think about this in 1 month, 1 year, or 10 years from now?”
  2. “Who do I know who has done what I want to do?”
  3. “What’s the easy way forward?”
  4. “What would happen if I did not make the choice that gets me closest to my life goals?”
  5. “How will this decision affect others in my life?”
  6. “What will I lose by making this decision?”
  7. “How do I feel in my body about this decision?”

Now, you need to act.  You must plan the steps that you will implement to get unstuck and get back on track.  By doing so, you will walk away from those ideas that were not working and move towards new possibilities.  Here are some questions to reflect upon.

  1. “What hasn’t worked yet?”
  2. “Who do I admire that is successful?  What would they do next?”
  3. “What am I willing to do today to take action?”
  4. “What steps will I take this week?”
  5. “What 4 actions can I take that would make sense this month?”

Take a deep breath, now let it out.  Remember, to just breathe as you take positive action to get unstuck.  You got this.  You are more than capable of proceeding toward your dreams and goals of a lifetime.  Now, GET UNSTUCK!  Let’s keep growing and going.  It’s a good time to be you!
